You decide to exercise more. You promise yourself you'll stop checking your phone before bed. You commit to eating more healthily. For a few days, everything goes well. Then life gets busy, motivation fades, and somehow the new habit quietly disappears.
Many of us assume we've failed because we weren't disciplined enough, but neuroscience suggests something different. Our brains simply aren't designed to rely on motivation alone.
